Performance Food Group Company is a foodservice distributor in the United States. It markets and distributes over 65,000 national and brand food and non-food products to more than 44,000 customers. Its product line and distribution systems allow it to service both of the major customer types in the foodservice or food-away-from-home industry: street foodservice customers, which include independent restaurants, hotels, cafeterias, schools, healthcare facilities and other institutional customers, and multiple unit, or chain customers, which include regional and national family and casual dining and quick-service restaurants. It is also a processor of fresh-cut produce, which it markets and distributes to retail and foodservice customers. The Company services its customers through three operating segments: Broadline, Customized and Fresh-Cut, which contributed approximately 50.7%, 33.4% and 16.1%, respectively, to total net sales for the fiscal year ended January 1, 2005.
